Impacting Lives Everywhere: Introducing City of Hope

INDEAL Cares is dedicated to workplace wellness and holistic health. One of our four pillars, Disease Prevention, is a cornerstone of this commitment. INDEAL Cares understands that in order to ensure individuals can live their best lives in health, we must support important research programs that focus on some of the most debilitating and crippling diseases of our time, including organizations like City of Hope.

City of Hope was founded in 1913, and over a century later, it has evolved into a leading global research and treatment center.

Their mission: to prevent and cure cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening diseases.

Groundbreaking Treatments and Technology

City of Hope’s legacy of care has spanned over a century with numerous scientific breakthroughs. Recognized as one of America’s top hospitals for cancer, City of Hope research has led to the development of five of the leading cancers used worldwide today. Synthetic Human Insulin, also known as Humulin is used by more than half of those with Type 1 Diabetes around the world was discovered through City of Hope research. Today, City of Hope has three on-site manufacturing facilities that enable investigators to develop promising new therapies without the high cost and delays encountered by other research centres. These capabilities save years of development time and ensure that we can rapidly and efficiently translate discoveries into life-saving treatments.

Collaborate, Innovate, Accelerate

City of Hope investigators participate in approximately 500 collaborative studies around the world.

Doctors’ partner with scientists to transform laboratory breakthroughs into treatments that outsmart cancer, as well as diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. Every discovery, breakthrough and advancement is powered by donors who all share the vision of transforming the future of health.

Raising Research and Treatment Standards Globally

By investigating the molecular mechanisms of diabetes complications, City of Hope scientists are helping develop effective new treatments. They are also studying the use of blood and stem cell transplantation to reboot the immune system in type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease.
