The Heart and Soul of
INDEAL Cares - Dr. Shannon Bloch
Our story is inspired by Dr. Shannon Bloch, a champion of holistic health, who dedicated her life to the care and well-being of individuals all over the world. Throughout her career, Dr. Bloch was passionate about providing exceptional care to her patients and believed in the empowering force of education, awareness, and evidence-based patient-centered care.
INDEAL Cares was established in 2020 with a clear vision: to revolutionize the health and well being of employees in North America - and globally - through a commitment to workplace wellness.
Dr. Bloch also believed that investing in global health, and in supporting and protecting the most vulnerable, is critically important to our overall well-being as a society. Dr. Bloch was a Clinical Supervisor at a World Spine Care clinic in Botswana for 12 weeks, and believed that the experience was incredibly beneficial, both to the patients she served and the experience she gained as a clinician.
Tragically, Dr. Bloch’s life was cut short before she was able to accomplish all that she had set out to do.
In honor of Dr. Bloch’s commitment to empowering individuals through holistic health, and in recognition of the fact that a healthy life at work is instrumental to a healthy life overall, INDEAL Cares was established.
INDEAL Cares is focused on empowering our networks to create a sustainable, healthy workplace environment for employees within the commercial furniture industry in North America; and by empowering other like-minded charitable organizations to carry out this work internationally.
“My time in Botswana was everything that I hoped it would be and so much more. To travel is one thing but to work and be completely immersed in a different culture and community gives you a whole new perspective and truly forces you to grow as a clinician. Instead of relying on patients to self-report their pain you learn to look at movement patterns, facial expressions and need to be accurate with your examination and diagnostic skills in order to create an effective treatment plan and diagnosis.”
